The 2003 Beloit Turner High School graduate will get his chance at a big league career.  Murphy was a 19th-round
pick by the Texas Rangers in the 2007 Major  League Baseball amateur draft.  "I appreciate the opportunity the
Rangers have given me, and I know it's a matter of going out there to see what my role and or part in the organization
is going to be."

Murphy, a two-time Rock Valley Conference Player of the Year, put himself in a position to be drafted with a solid
senior season at Kansas State University. He batted .332 and led the Jayhawks with 16 stolen bases, 50 runs
scored and 71 hits. After starting the season as the No. 9 hitter, Murphy's bat and speed eventually forced Kansas’
coach Ritch Price to move him to the lead off spot.

The Live the Dream family has had the opportunity to watch Murphy make his dream of becoming a big league player
a reality.  We wish him the best of luck as he begins his rookie year with the Texas Rangers.
